Trek to Manikgad Fort - Panvel

Manikgad was built to look upon the trade route from Maval to the coastal ports. The fort is about 1,878 feet high and invincible from three sides. The upper part can be reached only from the south. The fort presents a very commanding view of the valley surrounding it, with Karnala pinnacle and Prabalgad fort visible prominently.

P.S. Trekker joining team Kshitij directly on base village will be served only Lunch and light snacks during trek.

Itinerary

  • 06:00 Start from Borivali. On the way pick up from Andheri, Bandra, Sion and Amar Mahal. Breakfast will be served en route.
  • 09:30 Brief at base village and start trek
  • 12:00 Reach at Manikgad Fort. Enjoy views and have light snacks
  • 13:00 Start descending
  • 15:00 Reach base village. Change cloths and have lunch
  • 15:00 Start return journey

What to Bring!

Extra pair of clothes, Towel, sport shoes, floaters, plastic bags for wet cloths, 1 ltr water bottles for each participant including child, chocolates, Sunscreen, peppermint, personal medication if any, shoulder bag for each participant including child (no sling bags). During Monsoon - Windcheaters


What not to Bring!

Chappals, money, expensive jewellery and junk food.


P.S.: Please do carry a small shoulder bag to carry during the trek which will be enough to carry water bottles, cap, handkerchief, plastic bag, extra Floaters/sandals, windcheater, and chocolates. Also advisably each participant should carry it, including children. Do not carry common bag between whole family.

Can children join alone for the trek?

Ans: Yes, they can. We have children facilitator ratio of 7:1


Is this trek advisable for first timer?

Ans: Being a moderate grade trek its not advisable for amateur except if participant is physically fit and sporty.


What kind of meal is served during the trek?

We serve simple vegetarian meal. Jain food can be arranged on request.
