Kondane Caves - Karjat With a small Waterfall at the top, these ancient caves lay at the end of an easy trek, Kondane has a reason for everyone to cheer. KondanaCaves are the ancient buddhist caves dated back to 200 BC. The caves enclose sculptures, viharas, chaityas and stupas. The sculptures and stupas are the specimens of Buddhist architecture. Apart from the lush greenery, cascading waterfall is a major attraction at the caves.

Itinerary

06:00 am Start from Borivali. On the way pick up from Andheri (6:15 am), Bandra (6:25 am), Sion (6:40 am) and Amar Mahal (6:55 am). Breakfast will be served en route.
09:30 am Brief at base village and start trek
11:00 amReach at Kondana Caves. Enjoy in waterfall and have light snacks
12:00 pm Start descending
13:30 pm Reach base village. Change cloths and have lunch
15:30 pm Start return journey. Amar Mahal (17:30 pm), Sion (17:50 pm), Bandra (18:10 pm), Andheri (18:30 pm)
19:00 pm Reach Borivali.

What to Bring!

Extra pair of clothes, Towel, sport shoes, floaters, plastic bags for wet cloths, 1 ltr water bottles for each participant including child, chocolates, Sunscreen, peppermint, personal medication if any, shoulder bag for each participant including child (no sling bags). During Monsoon - Windcheaters

What not to Bring!

Chappals, money, expensive jewellery and junk food.

P.S.: Please do carry a small shoulder bag to carry during the trek which will be enough to carry water bottles, cap, handkerchief, plastic bag, extra Floaters/sandals, windcheater, and chocolates. Also advisably each participant should carry it, including children. Do not carry common bag between whole family.

What is Ex Kondana cost?

Ans: Participants travel on their own and join us at base village. It doesn't include break fast and evening snacks

Can children join alone for the trek?

Ans: Yes, they can. We have children facilitator ratio of 8:1

Is this trek advisable for first timer?

Ans: Being a simple grade trek even first timer can join for this trek

What kind of meal is served during the trek?

We serve simple vegetarian meal. Jain food can be arranged on request.

How much time does it take to climb Kondana Caves?
