Trek to Dukes Nose - Lonavala

Duke’s Nose named after Duke Wellington, is a cliff at Khandala near Lonavala. The Cliff is pointed like a snakes pointed head portion (hood) and hence the name Nagphani (Nag means snake and phani means hood). The name Dukes’nose is derived as the cliff looked like the shape of the Duke. This is a marvelous picnic spot nearby Lonavala.

What to Bring!

Sport Shoes, 1 ltr Water Bottles for each participant including child, Chocolates, Sunscreen, Peppermint, Personal Medication if any, shoulder bag for each participant including child (no sling bags).

What not to Bring!

Chappals, Money, Expensive Jewellery and Junk Food.

P.S.: Please do carry a small shoulder bag to carry during the trek which will be enough to carry water bottles, cap, handkerchief, plastic bag and chocolates. Also advisably each participant should carry it, including children. Do not carry common bag between whole family.

Itinerary

06:00 am Start from Borivali. On the way pick up from Andheri (6:15 am), Bandra (6:25 am), Sion (6:40 am), Amar Mahal (6:55 am) and Vashi (7:15 am). Breakfast will be served en route.
09:00 am Reach Base Village. Start Trek.
11:00 am Reach on top and spend time enjoying views of surrounding.
11:30 am Start Descending.
01:00 am Change cloth and have lunch in restaurant at Lonavala.
02:30 am Start return journey. Amar Mahal (16:30 pm), Sion (16:55 pm), Bandra (17:15 pm), Andheri (17:30 pm)
18:00 pm Reach Borivali.

What is Ex Dukes Nose cost?

Ans: Participants travel on their own and join us at base village. It doesn't include break fast and evening snacks

Can children join alone for the trek?

Ans: Yes, they can. We have children facilitator ratio of 8:1

Is this trek advisable for first timer?

Ans: Being a easy to moderate grade trek even first timer can join for this trek

What kind of meal is served during the trek?

We serve simple vegetarian meal. Jain food can be arranged on request.

How much time does it take to climb Dukes Nose?
