Lakeside Adventure - Kamshet

Based at a village called Takwe, near Kamshet, approximately 100 kms from Mumbai, this camp offers a breathtaking rendezvous with the wild flora and fauna and is known for the scenic beauty of its magnificent sub-mountain and riverine landscapes. This camp is perched by picturesque hills and wild forests providing the opportunity for a range of experiences and comfort in the wilderness.

Camp Objectives: For those camping out either for the first time or wanting to take a smaller trip to get used to the outdoors, this program is a perfect fit.Kids simply love being outdoors, and it works wonders for how they feel about being on their own, gaining a new level of freedom, independence, and responsibility! No bullying, and merely enjoying by collaboration and learning new principles of co-operation and bonding!

Highlights

Itinerary

Day 1

  • Start from Borivali National Park at 06:30 am for Kamshet. On the way, pickup will be provided from Kandivali, Malad, Goregaon, Andheri, Vile Parle, Santacruz, Sion, Amar Mahal (Chembur), and Vashi. Reach campsite at 10 am.

  • Depart from campsite at 2 pm. Arrival at Borivali at 6 pm. On the way drops at Vashi, Amar Mahal (Chembur), Sion, Santacruze, Vile Parle, Andheri, Goregaon, Malad, Kandivali & Borivali.
This is a sample itinerary. Kshitij reserves the right to cancel or alter any aspect of our program as a result of unforeseen circumstances, including weather, environment or health hazards. To the best of our ability, substitution of activities will be comparable to, or better than the original activity.

What to Bring!

Sport Shoes, 1 ltr Water Bottles for each participant including child, Chocolates, Sunscreen, Peppermint, Personal Medication if any, shoulder bag for each participant including child (no sling bags).


What not to Bring!

Chappals, Money, Expensive Jewellery and Junk Food.


P.S.: Please do carry a small shoulder bag to carry during the trek which will be enough to carry water bottles, cap, handkerchief, plastic bag and chocolates. Also advisably each participant should carry it, including children. Do not carry common bag between whole family.

FAQ

Are floaters compulsory?

Yes, floaters are compulsory. As the kids will need an extra pair for water activities. Closed-toe floaters or Crocs are good for this.


How long will the trek be?

The total duration of the trek will be about an hour.


How deep is the water in the lake?

The water body adjacent to the property is man-made and serves as Backwater Lake for a nearby dam. The exact depth is not known. No one is allowed to enter the lake without wearing a life-jacket.


April and May are fairly hotter months. Will NON AC accommodation be comfortable?

Kamshet’s cooler hill station climate, along with our scenic lakeside location, ensures a comfortable environment for our programs. Outdoor activities are scheduled in the early mornings and evenings, while indoor activities take place in the afternoons. Heat has never been an issue for the success of our programs, thanks to both the weather and our careful planning.
