Trek to Tikona Fort
Tikona is a very easy grade trek, ideal for parent - child duo's who are stepping into wilderness for the first time, or those looking at a rendezvous with nature. Located in Lonavala near Pawna lake, the view from this fort is splendid with some interesting structural remains like its famous large doors, Trimbakeshwar Mahadev temple, seven water tanks and some satvahan caves, Tikona is pyramidal in shape and the name Tikona means triangular. A lot of people trek to Tikona Fort to witness the surrounding marvels, which include the beautiful view of Pawna Lake from the top. This lake is known for its scenic beauty and tranquillity surrounded by lush green mountains.
Not much is known about the history of Tikona Fort. In the 16th century, Malik Ahmad Nizam Shah I of the Nizam Shahi dynasty conquered this fort. Later, in the 17th century, Maharaj Shivaji ruled over the entire Konkan region and conquered the Tikona Fort along with many other forts in the region. This fort was the primary point for the whole of Pawana Maval region, until the Mughal warriors invaded it, which was re-captured by the Marathas. You can see a Vihara (Buddhist Temple or monastery) on the fort dateable to approximately seventh or eighth century AD.Across the fort are the beautiful Sahyadri Mountains, accessible by a ridge. Beauty and adventure go hand-in-hand at this majestic fort. Surrounded by lakes, valleys, and mountains, Tikona Fort is a perfect destination to enjoy the gust of oxygen and feel rejuvenated.

06:00 am Gather at Borivali National Park, On the way pick up from Kandivali, Malad, Goregaon, Jogeshwari, Andheri, Vile Parle, Kala Nagar, Sion, Amar Mahal (Chembur), Vashi. On the way have breakfast in Bus.
09:00 am Reach base village, have tea & start trek
11:00 am Reach on top and enjoy scenic beauty and click pictures
11:30 am Start Descending
01:00 pm Lunch & changing at village house
03:00 pm Depart for Mumbai
Reach Mumbai between 7 to 8 pm
What to Bring!
Pair of clothes, Windcheaters, sport shoes, floaters, plastic bags, water bottles, chocolates, peppermint, personal medication if any, shoulder bag (avoid sling bags).
What not to Bring!
Chappals, Money, Expensive jewellery, Electronic gadgets and junk food.
