Lohagad (Marathi: लोहगड, iron fort) is one of the many hill forts of Maharashtra state in India. Situated close to the hill station Lonavala and 52 km (32 mi) northwest of Pune, Lohagad rises to an elevation of 1,033m (3,389 ft) above sea level. The fort is connected to the neighboring Visapur fort by a small range. The fort was under the Maratha empire for the majority of time, with a short period of 5 years under the Mughal empire. Lohagad is part of the Western Ghats. It rises to an elevation of 1,033 m (3,389 ft) above sea level, and is located to the southwest of the larger Visapur fort. During the monsoon, the top of the Fort is covered with mist and clouds and becomes particularly wet with growing moss.

Kondana Caves
Venue Karjat

Kondana Caves - Karjat With a small Waterfall at the top, these ancient caves lay at the end of an easy trek, Kondane has a reason for everyone to cheer. Kondana Caves are the  ancient buddhist caves dated back to 200 BC. The caves enclose sculptures, viharas, chaityas and stupas. The sculptures and stupas are the specimens of Buddhist architecture. Apart from the lush greenery, cascading waterfall is a major attraction at the caves.

Winter Trek
Venue Dukes Nose

Duke’s Nose named after Duke Wellington, is a cliff at Khandala near Lonavala. The Cliff is pointed like a snakes pointed head portion (hood) and hence the name Nagphani (Nag means snake and phani means hood). The name Dukes’nose is derived as the cliff looked like the shape of the Duke. This is a marvelous picnic spot nearby Lonavala.

The Krishnā River flows nearby which made the lake of Dhom Dam on the Krishna 9 km from Wai. Camp Panchgani has a vast expanse of land and out of which 20 acres has been developed for camping. The campsite overlooks a hill with a natural scenic beauty and adventure points right at the campsite. Being on very high altitude the weather is pleasant and favorable all round the year.

Misty Hills
