Saat Tal - A Wildlife Refuge
Venue - Saat Tal & Nainital

Situated a safe distance from Nainital (22km), Saat Tal gets its name from the seven lakes in its vicinity. The camp is located amidst three of these lakes and a dense cover of Oak forests. Saat-tal is situated at a moderate height of 1350 m (4,300 ft.), which makes it an ideal all-season camp.

In the forest setting of the Saat tal camp the children can go hiking to the villages and lakes around the area, Kayaking and Swimming in the crystal clear lakes, a waterfall splash, climb and rappel down the rocks or do a Tyrolean traverse across a section of the lake. Included is a bird watching based treasure hunt.

Day 1

Gather at Bandra Terminus at 12 noon. Departure by Garibrath at 12:55 pm. Enjoy Dabba Party with New Friends.

Day 2

Reach Delhi by Noon, have lunch and onwards travel by Uttar Sampark Kranti Express by 3:30pm. Reach Kathgodam by 10pm, have dinner and drive to Sattal. Settle down in safari tents and retire for the night.

Day 3

Hike up to the hilltop.
Familiarization walk through the Suryagaon eco zone through the village, explore the ridges, and the forest around the seven lakes. Introduction to Kayaking.
Paddling, maneuvering and balancing.
Swimming with life jackets.
Relaxed evening followed by dinner.

Day 4

Breakfast at the camp followed by Interaction with villagers, service work on ongoing projects, farms.
Learn to construct a rope bridge.
Learn various knots, use of climbing equipment related techniques.
Crossing over with the team.
Tyrolean traverse and Jumaring Participants organize the evening party with the village kids.
Music, theatre and help in cooking snacks.
Relaxed time around the campfire.

Day 5

Kayaking Practice sessions.
Control techniques on Twin / single seater Kayaks.
A picnic Lunch in a garden by the lake. Adventure: Rock climbing / rappelling in the forest.
Hike back to the hilltop in the evening.
Free Play
Campfire games.

Day 6

Hike to the Hadimba Ashram on the adjoining hilltop.
Have tea with Babaji, telling of old tales and myths of the forest.
Hike down the other side to reach the Sahastra Dhara waterfall in the forest.
Have a refreshing splash under the falls.
Picnic lunch by the lakes.
Advanced Kayaking lessons: Learn Kayak rolls, races on the lakes.
Night trek in a game format.

Day 7

Plan for the days Lunch.
Participants to decide the menu, plan for the rations and logistics from the camp kitchen.
Post breakfast trek to the Jantwal dhura ridge and then hike down to Garuda tal through dense forest.
Collect firewood.
Cook and serve Lunch in the forest clearing.
Choose your favourite adventure activity.
Kayaking chaos.
Fun team games based on Kayaking.
Tea by the lakeside.
Last night at the camp.
Music, singing around the campfire.

Day 8

With packed breakfast, drive to Nainital to visit Zoo, Snow Point and Boating in Naini Lake and Shopping. Departure to Kathgodam from Nainital. Board Ranikhet express at 8:00 p.m.

Day 9

Arrive Delhi early morning and catch Garibrath from Delhi Sarai Rohilla at 9 am and start return journey to Mumbai

Day 10

Arrival Bandra Terminus at 8 am
